Week 1: Project Planning

I have decided to model the Nostromo corridors from the Alien films.

At first I was conflicted on whether I should do this Nostromo corridor, as in it is quite an ambitious goal for me. Despite feeling this way, I decided to do it after getting some encouragement and seeing a certain lecturer show a great deal of excitement about the scene.

I collected references and planned out my scene. Based on the reference I found, I found out the average height and width of the tunnel.

I downloaded and played Alien: Isolation, as in I believe it is a perfect reference for my scene. It allowed me to understand what makes the scene so ominous, how important the lighting and fog is to create that sort of atmosphere. I have decided to make two trim sheets: one for floor, wall grates and pipes and the other one for upper and lower wall intersection, the roof and custom plastic pipes with metal.
